TWILIGHT -YEAH RIGHT!!! o.O
.
My hatred towards this book is unbelievably unexplainable. The concept in itself is very refreshing, but I just feel that Stephanie Meyers overdid it. Had Bella not been such a self-hating, pitiful weakling it might have held more interest for me.
Initially Twilight was very interesting. Edward Cullen was the ultimate New Greek God in my life. Their unconventional romance had me all starry eyed. In addition, the sub plots got me addicted to the story. Bella’s immunity to vampires, the Volturi, and a twisted evil tracker wanting to drink her blood was a perfect excuse for a nightlong reading session. I will not deny it; Twilight is one of the few books I would like to read repeatedly. However, I think that is exactly where Mrs. Meyers should have stopped but, no, she went ahead with New Moon.
NEW MOON is a tolerable tale, which takes the life of Bella a step ahead. Even though a quarter of the book is spent on Bella’s wailing and her being stuck inside a black hole, all alone, where Edward left her, you do tend to feel for her. Nevertheless, eventually it starts to grow on you, which is never a good sign. You reach a point when you curse Edward, for had he not left, she would not have become such a fake ‘emo’. This is where the second hero in line, Jacob Black, quite literally saves the whole book at the right time. Where Jacob’s character motivates you to read further, halfway through the book you begin to wonder whatever happened to Edward. That is when Bella feels adventurous and that is where Edward, who is miles away, is lead to believe that Bella committed suicide. Like a true foolish lover, he resolves to die as well….oh what love.
But…but...how can both the lead characters just die right?
So as you may have guessed, it by now, Edward feels guilt for leaving her, Bella cries to no end on his shoulder and it’s a happy ending. Edward and Bella are alive and safe, wrapped in each other’s embrace….yet again.
Only if Mrs. Meyers writing styles had complimented the story line. She went ahead and repeated the things too many times. Edward is beautiful, he has cool marble skin, he is amazing, he is extra ordinary, and he is this he is that…the reader is not dumb that he or she will not realize what you mean to say in the first few attempts! Moreover, I am quite sure there are many more words in English for ‘beautiful’. It is not so much for the plot that gets on your nerves, it is more the way she repeated everything.
The third installment to this series – ECLIPSE is a total crash of all expectations in all possible ways. Right from the beginning one wonders what would happen, seeing that the two had already had their happily ever after. As you dig deeper into the story, you are engulfed in this enormous pool of clichés.
Bella is now made to choose between her vampire lover boy, Edward and her newly recruited werewolf best friend, Jacob. How can one be expected to empathize with the woman when time and again it has been reinforced that she leads a worthless life without Edward…So where does the question of choosing arise then? Far from sympathizing, you feel an immense hate wave for her. After finishing the book, you feel like banging your head on the wall, because you realize that you attained your height of stupidity – Really, you should have read the end rather than wasting our precious days reading that! Eclipse in my view is a tasteless plot less mix of vampires, werewolves, humans, love, lust, jealousy and half a dozen other things…Hey! When did this become High School Musical 4?
After all this, I remained a loyal twilight fan. As much as I disliked Bella or as much as I felt that, she did not deserve Edward or Jacob, but BREAKING DAWN just ended it. It was a disaster waiting to happen. No one in his or her sane mind should read, let alone write such a book! Well I doubt Mrs. Meyers caters to the sane population in any case (one of the very few reasons I like her) but that did not give her a license to write Breaking dawn! We already had a happy ending…what else do you want us to read! Nevertheless, we read it, yes, we read Breaking Dawn, and we read about Edward and Bella’s sex life. I will tell you how exciting that was…almost as exciting as reading my history textbook! The real jaw dropper was when Bella gets pregnant with Edwards child. The sex was bound to lead them somewhere. In addition, if Bella’s whining all through the previous three books was not enough, Edward turns whiny! Do we not deserve a break?
Oh and do not miss the underlying social message there. Never have sex without condoms; you might end up like Bella, knocked up with a vampire’s baby. Ooh what a thrilling experience that ought to be.
A good book has only highs and lows, but with this one, it is JUST lows. So Bella has the baby, she becomes a vampire (Edwards kiss must be interesting), she has the all-cool skill of shielding, everything becomes just fine…and then another fiasco. I was anticipating it almost. Remember the evil vampire who wanted to kill Bella in the first book? Well it’s revenge time for his mate now…oh and the volturi wants to kill the new vampire part human baby and then the werewolves and more vampires, so many names and characters…and oh my god I wonder if she was dumping all these plots on us just to irritate us! Because Eclipse was plot less except for the love triangle, which was unnecessary, and then there is Breaking Dawn, where there are too many plots! It was the biggest disappointment and I recommend that you read this book just to hate it.

Enchanted - Part 8
“It usually doesn’t rain so heavily during this time, but weather is always unpredictable” Bob said opening the window and letting fresh air in. “Even then, we will still have to go to the ceremony”
“What ceremony?” Pallavi asked munching on her wafers
“To honor Tital and Clia, we told you yesterday, you all are invited as well”
Pallavi nodded and turned to look in Shelly’s direction, who herself was too busy staring at Bob. Maybe Vanya was right, maybe something was going on between the two of them, but even so they didn’t have enough proof.
By evening, the rain had halted and they were all asked to change into their robes. The girls found the dresses to be ridiculous, yet beautiful. Their gowns were elaborate, full of gold and stones and actually quite heavy to carry. Each of them was provided with a maid, who ensured that they looked beautiful. All of the girls had let their hair down.
Pat had never seen such a beautiful avatar of Jess before. He was enthralled by her beauty.
“Ready to go?” Gerard asked
“I guess” Shelly replied looking at all the others who were ready as well.
They left in three royal chariots, heavily decorated with gold, truly elucidating the grandeur of the king. The palace was massive. Never having seen such a huge structure ever before, Pallavi gasped. It was like a high rise building spread over a large estate.
“Man this could give queen Elizabeth a complex!” Vanya shrieked.
The chariots dropped them very close to the entrance, so they didn’t have to walk the kilometer long stretch between the palace gates and the main entrance. Climbing up the steps, Pallavi noticed inscriptions on the sides. It looked like an ancient script, so she asked what it said to Frank, who was nearest to her.
“That’s the Andronian script. It’s a royal language. No one but the king and his family are allowed to speak in Andronian language. These verses are written in the praise of our kings that have ruled this place for centuries. “
“Oh”
She looked up at the wooden doors, leading into the great hall. It was huge, with pointed arcs on both the doorways.
“What’s that hanging from the arc?”
“Those are the two acquaintances of the goddess Frejya, something like her different avatars – orata and Thalia”
They all stepped inside the hall to experience its beauty. In the farthest corner sat the king and his queen, looking over the lavish festive. In the heart of the hall, men and women danced, wearing elaborate dresses, but their glitter was dimmed by the shine of the palace. Even at night it looked as if, it was daylight inside. The walls were all made of white marble, and the sculptures engraved in the wall were all gold, carved on alternate pillars, holding up the hall ceiling.
Royal green drapes hanging from between the pillars were drawn apart. The area was illuminated by the colossal chandeliers. Pallavi could’ve gone on staring at those chandeliers, had not Gerard asked them to go and give the king their respect first.
Gerard taking hold of Vanya's hand led them through the crowd. Patrick held Jess by the waist and followed. Bob hurried to be by Shelly’s side, Mikey already had his friend along and rank stood by Pallavi.
“Just follow us” Gerard said and stopped and bowed I front of the king and the queen.
“Raise my faithful warriors” the king said in a deep voice. “Would these be your friends?”
“Aye, my lord”
The queen looked at them smiling a bit, and welcomed them. She had a voice sweeter than that of honey. “Enjoy the night”
They all bowed down again and walked to a side. Ray came to stand with them.
“How did he tame his afro?” Vanya chuckled
“Magic” Gerard winked and led her to the dance floor
She giggled a bit and curled her hands around his chest. He was so tall; she only came up to his chest.
“Where’s the music coming from?” as there was no orchestra playing anywhere near them.
“It’s the music of the animals who rejoice this time of the year, like us. The birds chirp and the unicorns, funnily enough give the beat”
“There are unicorns here?”
Gerard smiled and looked at other friends who were also enjoying a lot. Bob and Shelly also joined them in the dance, leaving Pallavi to stand alone in the corner.
“Why are you still here?” Frank demanded off her
“Where else should I be Iero?”
“Dancing”
“I don’t want to”
“What rubbish! Yes you do – come on” he took her hand
“Frank!”
“Come on dance for my sake!”
“Not really the best trigger” she laughed
“Okay fine, so dance for the sake of all the hatred you have for me”
“Too bad I don’t hate you”
“Oh you don’t! Well then dance for Andronia's beauty”
“Hmm…that will do”
She went onto the dance floor with him, twirling and taping to the beats, moving her body, in the most graceful ways.
Around her, she saw her friends, which made her happy, but she saw that thing again and before she could alert anyone - too many things had already happened
Enchanted - Part 7
After one full day of rest, the hosts decided to take their friends for some sight seeing, as if they hadn’t done any already! They took them to a massive structure, carved out of a mountain, to give it a feeling of a cave.
“It’s our house of worship” Gerard began, yet again. “The Andronian religion is really a mix of many beliefs, created over millions of years.”
They climbed up a good 100 steps, before reaching the shrine gates. It was a grand structure, made of gold, silver, bronze and other precious, glittering stones. The first idol was adorned with intricate jewellery. She was the most beautiful goddess they had ever seen.
“Who is she?” Shelly asked, looking at her, mesmerized. She was made of crystal, draped in white, and looked up at heaven with her eyes shut.
“This is Frejya – The goddess of love. It is believed that if anyone with the purest heart prays for their love, they get it. She is one of the most powerful deities in our religion.” They all paid their respects, Bob staying a bit longer, and then moved on to the next deity.
“This is Lorelei, goddess of wrath.” Mikey whispered. She looked dangerous with her black robes and blood red eyes. Vanya got a bit freaked looking at her and rushed forward.
“Tital, is the guardian of Andronia, along with his wife Clia. We worship them for well being and prosperity. Andronians celebrate their wedding every year for a whole month, which fortunately starts tomorrow. You all are also invited especially by the king to join the festive and the ceremonies.” Gerard said and started talking about the moon goddess, Cynthia. She was beautiful, made of complete gold, just like Tital and Clia. The last was Damian or the devil god
“But why worship the devil?” Pallavi asked Mikey
“So that he allows peace on Andronia. Mesopheles is a synonym for devil and Andronians are convinced that it’s their neglect towards the devil god which is causing him to take revenge. Never have the people of Andronia prayed so much to the Damian as they are right now.”
“Oh wow…this all is just so wonderful” Jess said admiring the structure once more before leaving in the chariot towards the mini palace they were living in.
All this while Pallavi and Vanya couldn’t get their eyes off Shelly, who seemed to blush all day long, for no real reason. They were sure something was up, but couldn’t place it, until Vanya caught Bob staring at Shelly.
“Its Bob” she hissed in Pallavi’s ears
They couldn’t react too much, because Bob was sitting right in front of them, but as soon as they reached the house Pallavi and Vanya shut themselves in one room.
“You better not be kidding” Pallavi said in a hushed tone to Vanya
“I am not; I caught him staring at her!”
“Anybody would stare at her! She is the stare material”
Vanya gave her a look and finally agreed to not to jump to any conclusions. They both were tired so went to sleep, just like Shelly had. With Jess it was a different story.
“How are things going my gorgeous?” Pat asked entering her room
“Good, but now that you are here excellent.” She replied, shifting a bit to let him sit on the bed. Instead he just bent over and kissed her hard
“I love you so much Jess” he said, breaking apart, tears flooding his eyes.
Jess looked at him questioningly “I love you too, what’s wrong?”
“Will you ever leave me?”
“No silly boy…whoever gave you that thought?”
“I – when we were trapped in that thing, I saw that you w – were getting married to someone else and –“he broke down crying
“I can't ever leave you Pat; you’re the best person I’ve ever met. I love you too much anyway.” She smiled and kissed him. “Don’t ever think this way again”
The promises they made were going to be broken soon.
Enchanted - Part 6
As the whole group talked further about nothing in particular, the lights in the room went off, startling Shelly.
“Don’t worry; the lights will be back soon, we are actually traveling through vacuum, which would lead us to Andronia.” Frank said. As soon as he said that, the lights did come back on, but not as electricity, the bulbs had all been replaced with torch lights, candles and chandeliers.
“We don’t have any electricity here” he clarified, before pat could even ask.
The sun was just coming up, giving a beautiful orange color to the half blue sky. Pat looked out of the window and whistled, the followed the girls out.
“This is so awesome” he whistled
“Damn I wish I belonged here!” Shelly said standing on the green grass staring into nothingness
“Damn I wish that were true” Bob slowly whispered in her ear as he passed by. She went red in the face, but thankfully Vanya came to her rescue, saving her from any further embarrassment. They turned left and were faced with the most beautiful vista they had ever set eyes on. in the back drop of lush greenery, flowed a river, so clear they could see the bottom of the river clearly.
“This is the single most beautiful place I have ever seen!” Pallavi vocalized.
“Thank goodness you like the place” Frank said from behind, being a bit nasty in his tone
“Liking a place is never a guarantee to liking the people who inhabit the place, Frank, and it surely applies in your case at least.” She sarcastically replied. Frank thought better to just stay shut.
“Hey” Bob yelled from inside “Whoever wants food, come back in”
True the view was spectacular and none of them wanted to stop admiring it, but they were way too hungry to wait any longer.
Each of the girls and Pat were shown into their own separate rooms which were very spacious with a four poster bed in the middle. Dresses had been laid out for them, to change into after freshening up. Vanya was the first one to come out, wearing a blue shirt and dark denims.
Gerard was the only one in the hall
“You have a really lavish living” she told him, looking at the maids running around cleaning things, setting the table, bringing in more food from the kitchen and doing the other chores.
“Yeah, but we are hardly here to enjoy it” he replied, looking out of the window. “Currently looking after the security of our king is our responsibility so our work is almost never ending”
“So what you stands outside your king’s room like security guards?”
Gerard gave a cute laugh “No, we designate who looks after which part of the palace and form all the security plans, escape routes and stuff. So it’s a pressing job”
Vanya gave a nod pretending to have understood everything he had just told her. Soon enough all of them were in the hall enjoying a hearty meal of bacon, eggs, toast, mashed potatoes and a score of other delicious things.
“I am going to sleep” Jess declared after she was finished with eating. Others shared the exact same thoughts. The previous day had been very freaky and now they were in a parallel world, they could only hope for everything to go well.
Enchanted - Part 5
Pat stayed up staring at the beautiful sculptures that Jess and Shelly now were. But sitting all alone in the darkness was tougher than he thought it was. Even the slightest noise, like that of water dripping in some corner of the house, startled him. Wishing that the two trapped girls be out of there torture soon, he fell asleep. Not long after, Bob came out of his room to check on Patrick as well as the girls. He saw Patrick sleeping and very kindly put a blanket on him. He went and stood in front of the ice which and shifted his eyes both ways, from Jess to Shelly, looking so calm and carefree on the outside, but raging through hurt and turbulence on the inside.
“You are a beautiful girl” he said in a whisper, watching Shelly. Pat stirred in the mean time, and cried with happiness. “They made it!”
Like Vanya, Jess and Shelly too fell on their knees, feeling frail, as soon as the ice around them let go. The noise must have woken up the others as they all came out of their rooms. Pallavi and Vanya screamed in delight. They couldn’t help but chant thank you to the Gods they knew and ran to hug them. Pat too rushed to hold Jess in his arms.
“I’m so glad you are okay” he said kissing Jess on the lips. She smiled tenderly holding Shelly’s hand on one side, feeling Vanya hand on her back. It felt comforting to be with them all again and not seeing those demons that had surrounded them for almost 6 hours.
“We thought we’d lost you both” Vanya said wiping a tear off
“We have more guts than that” Shelly replied winking, but the terror in her eyes could not be hidden.
Pallavi got up and went to the guys who were all standing at a distance, viewing the family drama. She thanked Ray and Frank like an idiot; spoke in the middle of that too.
“What don’t you have to thank us?”
Pallavi looked at him incredulously, suppressing the impulse of wanting to punch his face. “What is your problem? Am I done with it yet? I jut thanked Ray…if you had a little bit more patience, I would’ve thanked you too. Git.”
“For a minute I thought you were normal”
“I’m not the one who carries hair as weird as yours” she retorted
“Hey! I like my hair this way”
“Well then I like myself this way, so shut your mouth and don’t argue anymore or you won’t be left in a single piece. Goodnight to you all and thank you for all the help”
She made her ay into the room where the rest were waiting for her. The room was gigantic, with proportionately large French windows overlooking a superb garden. Even though the outside of the house was made of stone, the interiors were all cemented and pretty much contemporary.
“Why do you argue with that boy so much, he’s so adorable” Shelly laughed
“Please shell, he’s not adorable. It’s no that I hate him, he just answers me back and that pisses me off. I just wish he’d mind his own business.”
Unexpectedly there was loud thud, like a thunderclap, and the whole room started shaking. Everyone ran out of the room, thinking it to be an earthquake, falling with every step as the house rocked to natures beat. They entered the hall they had previously occupied, but were puzzled to see the setting of the place had changed completely. The small sitting area with leather couches had been replaced by a long hall, with a dining table in the far end and antique wood furniture on their end. The walls were all made of stone like on the outside. It as a room full of grandeur, Jess turned to go back into the room they had come from, except the door didn’t exist anymore. The rumbling ended and the four ‘wizards’ came out of one of the rooms. Ray had apparently gone back.
“What in the world is happening here?” Shelly demanded.
“I think it’s a good time to explain” Mikey said thoughtfully. In a short span of 10 they had pretty much realized that Gerard loved to speak, so he began to explain.
“Well we are from a place called Andronia. It’s a nice place and a lot better than here. Well at least it’s not a concrete jungle anyway. There is everything there beaches, mountains, desert, rivers, oceans. It’s beautiful and so are the people. We are ruled by a king – king Orion. He’s a good ruler.”
“Who was that evil thing who came here tonight?”
“He isn’t really evil” Gerard said, but Pallavi cut him short “Not really evil? Are you seriously saying that?”
“Well” he continued “he was the kings general, but Mesopheles, who wants to seize the crown, turned him evil. So now he’s Hadean and you saw what he can do.
“So how do you figure in our world?” Vanya asked with interest.
“Well we were sent on earth on a special mission, which we are not allowed to speak off obviously”
“Do you guys have powers and stuff?” pat asked
“Yeah, I can control fire, Mikey has telekinetic skills, and Frank can become invisible and is also a potion maker. Bob can cast metal and Ray can control wind. Apart from the special powers all of us can cast the normal spells. Ray is a minister in the king’s council. And we all here are warriors.
“Wow” Shelly said, amazed
“Gerard...where exactly are we?” Jess asked a bit concerned
“In the middle of the earth”
“What?”
“That’s where the portal is. Don’t worry we’ll be out soon.” Mikey replied
“I’m not sure I wanna go to Andronia, I wanna go home” Pallavi said.
“No please come as our guests, you can go back whenever you want to”
“Am I supposed to believe you, and agree to it?”
“I don’t really see any harm.” Patrick said, avoiding Pallavi’s piercing glare “id like to see a parallel world”
“Pat!”
The others didn’t seem to thing wrongly of the idea either, leaving Pallavi in a fix. She couldn’t even argue, because she was heavily outdone.
She gave in but she didn’t have a nice feeling about it.
Enchanted - Part 4
Pallavi had been walking behind Mikey for a very long time. They kept on climbing more and more steps. It felt like climbing to a mountain top. By the time they really reached the topmost room, they were all out of breath. The four boys went inside the nearest room. It was beautiful, completely in tune with the ancient gothic look the house wore on the outside. Mystical objects were placed all around the room. The four poster bed itself was an example of the room’s beauty. Frank, Mikey and Bob sat on that bed, while Gerard went closer to the bedside table and Pallavi just stood at the door awkwardly, eagerly anticipating what worse was going to happen next. Gerard spoke suddenly to a dead carving placed on the bedside. It was shaped like an elf, hardly the size of her palm, with pointed ears.
“We need to see Ortiz.” He said.
A few minutes later the elf replied “He shall be here, please keep waiting patiently”
Gerard nodded and joined the others on the bed. Ortiz came in, rather materialized minutes later and immediately said a bit roughly to Gerard “How many times do I ask you to call me Ray….and not Ortiz, Gerard? And your reason for calling me better be good”
“Oops…sorry Ray and we called you because Hadean paid us a visit.”
Ray stared at Gerard. “You better not be kidding me. Who’s this girl?”
Gerard explained everything faster than a jet plane. Ray heard all the details with interest and once that was over they all headed down to the hall. Pallavi took Mikey's help to climb down those steep steps.
Ray observed the frozen people with curiosity.
“It’s one of Hadean’s new toys, we have no clue how to repel it “Bob said
“Hm…it is jinxed ice, but you can't do anything to help them. Those who get trapped in this ice suffer their worst fears, their nightmares and all the things they were ever afraid of. They’ll have to break the magic on their own. They can come out only when they conquer their fears”
“You mean they are being tortured unconsciously?” Pallavi asked
“In a way yes.” Ray replied “and you have to be very careful that these sculptures don’t break, or else the person inside will also die”
Pallavi looked from Ray to Gerard with terror in her eyes. She stuttered to ask “T- tell me the truth- can you bring them back”
“I’m sorry but there is very little that we can do” Ray replied, shamefacedly
She broke down crying, fearing that she’d never see her loved ones again. Gerard crouched down besides her to comfort her, apologizing profusely for even letting this happen. Amidst the entire buzz that was being created in the room, no one noticed that some of the ice was breaking off Patrick. Not until the whole thing crashed down with a sound, did they realize something was happening.
“PAT!” Pallavi screamed and ran to hug him. Tears streamed off both their eyes as they hugged each other like long lost siblings.
“Are you okay kid?” he asked
“I’m fine and I’m not the one trapped in this ice. Are you okay?”
“I’m fine, don’t worry about me” he replied, stealing a look at the girls. He knew what Pallavi was thinking and answered her unasked question. “They know what they have to do, we can't do anything angel.”
“I know” she replied noticing how pale he was looking. Their attention was diverted by a shout that Gerard gave. The ice holding Vanya was beginning to melt as well and soon enough she fell on her knees, weak and exhausted.
Pallavi and Pat went to her and hugged her. She kept on murmuring “god let them not be true”
“Sshh…Sshh…nothing is true, nothing is” Pat replied holding her tightly.
“No – no – don’t you see…Jess and shell can't get out. We were fighting them Angel, I escaped, but they are still there…they can't fight them.” She cried.
Pallavi knew what Vanya was referring to, but didn’t express her emotions any further. Not in front of all those guys anyway.
“They both are very strong; they’ll get their way around.” Pat consoled. “why don’t you both go and rest? I’ll stay by them”
“But-
“Don’t worry about me, I’m fine” he said, cutting Pallavi short.
Bob quickly showed the two girls into a room and closed it quietly behind them. Gerard thought it to be the right time to know what the girls were actually talking about.
“It’s their past and they don’t like to talk about it. True that I do know of it, but if you wanna know something they all runaway from, its best that you ask them” Pat replied.
Gerard nodded and apologized for letting all this happen in the first place. Pat accepted it and didn’t question any further. He just wanted things to get normal again.
Enchanted - Chapter 3
Pallavi got nearer to the window and saw what she never thought she would in reality. Gerard, Frank, Mikey and Bob had their swords drawn out and in front of them stood a creature, which looked more dead than alive. He wore a long black coat and was pretty mean looking by appearance. His eyes were hollowed inside, as if they didn’t exist at all. Single handedly he was tackling all the four guys who were challenging him. White strings were shooting from his fingers, turning everything into ice. The girl viewing this from outside, hidden under the window sill, couldn’t hear what was being said but she surely hoped it was all a theatrical set up.
In a flash that evil thing was gone, just vanished out of site. Pallavi pinched herself really hard and ended up hurting herself. She rushed in through the door. What she couldn’t see the window, was visible when she stood right in the middle of the room.
“What did you do to them” she demanded, her eyes transfixed in one corner “What happened here? What did you do to them?” she screamed falling to her knees. It was impossible for her to convince herself that it was a dream. Jess, Shelly, Vanya and Patrick stood in the corner like statues, turned into ice like so many other things in the room. The ice was so clear; it gave an illusion of being crystals inside which they were tapped.
“I knew we shouldn’t have come here” she cried, then turned to look at the other guys “Do something!”
“We don’t know what to do” Frank replied foolishly
“You caused it and you’ll fix it” she threatened”I don’t care which parallel world you belong to. I don’t care whether you are magicians or wizards or whatever else. Just fix it!”
“Why don’t you go to your own house, while we figure this out” Bob kindly said.
“I am not moving until I see them move their limbs.”
“Look this is magic okay and it cannot be undone so easily” Mikey responded
“Why I wouldn’t have known. Thank you for that enlightening information” she snapped “You are magicians to, just do something”
“We can't use magic in front of you”
“Honestly does it even matter!” she sad losing her patience and her temper. “I do know your nasty secret don’t I”
“Hey it’s not nasty” Frank defended
“Yeah you are nasty” she retorted “Now do something” over powering her urge to cry in front of them, she turned on her heels and into a random room.
“She” Frank began “Is very weird”
“We better find a way to get this back o normal” Gerard said looking over Bob’s shoulder, to see four pair of eyes staring at him.
Bob's eyes suddenly widened shining brightly. “Heat!”
“Huh?” the rest quizzed
“Heat the place, the ice will melt then.”
His suggestion seemed to be the only logical thing to do at the time, but they were also convinced that it wouldn’t be so easy to get rid of the ice. They moved out any way, including Pallavi. It didn’t take too long to convince her to leave the premises temporarily.
“Look we’re extremely sorry for this” Gerard apologized “we didn’t know this would happen, otherwise we wouldn’t have called you at all.”
She swallowed hard “I don’t want any explanations Gerard. They are my only family just don’t take them away from me.”
For a whole hour they waited outside, crossing their hearts against all odds that the ice would melt. No one spoke anything. Pallavi cried silently, while the guys busied themselves with something or the other. Frank busied himself with staring at the depressed girl.
“This effin ice won't melt!” Frank angrily said, standing in front of the door.
The house was burning like a barbeque, but not even a millimeter of the ice had turned water. Pallavi just stood there in front of the statue, looking from one face to another. Her eyes froze on Patrick. She felt guilt rise neck high inside her. There had always been some tension between her and pat, but she did like him, only she had never told him. Right then she didn’t know whether she would ever be able to or not. She held on tightly to the ice, feeling cold herself, wetting her own shirt. It would’ve been better if she’d frozen along with them.
“Are you crazy!” Frank shouted, pulling her away “you’d freeze with them” he ran a spell down her body, making her warm again
“Can't you do that on them?” she hopefully asked
“I already tried”
Tears ran down here eyes. Frank apprehensively approached her and hugged her. She cried harder in his arms.
Gerard, Mikey and Bob came out in a single file.
“We’ll have to call Toro.” Bob declared.
“Oh man calling him is such a job” Frank wailed, letting go of Pallavi.
“It’s our only choice”
“Do you think you can stay here alone?” Mikey kindly asked her “Or do you wan to come with us?”
“I-I’ll come with you” she replied with difficulty and moved behind them. The sun was just setting; it was going to be hell of a long night.
